Leonardo created his own school-workshop in Milan. The pupils helped the master in his scientific research, he taught them painting.

The most talented students of Leo were Giovanni Boltraffio and Francesco Melzi
4
Giovanni Boltraffio (1476 – 1516)
He was from a noble family in Milan. During his studies at Leonardo, he kept a diary. On the basis of this diary, the book "Risen Gods" was written. In his works he used the da Vinci’s techniques.

Francesco Melzi (1491 – 1570) He accompanied the master in his travels. After master’s death, Francesco became the heir of his scientific works. Leo considered him his son. At the end of life, da Vinci’s left hand was paralyzed (he was left-handed), so Merzi helped me finish some works.

Actually Leonardo and Michelangelo weren’t friends at all, they were opponents. They were different ages and worked in different styles. Da Vinci was tall and handsome man, Michelangelo was short and not so attractive.
14
Once, two geniuses collided in a dispute in the town square.
Michelangelo said: ‘You made a sketch of a horse to cast it out of bronze, could not do it and threw it’. At the same time, the statue of David was already on the square. These words very offended by Leonardo.
15
Once they were both invited to decorate the Town Hall in Florence, this was the place of their struggle. Their works ware located on opposite sides. But none of them finished it. Leonardo wrote military battles, Michelangelo portrayed the beauty of the male body.
17
Rafael Santi He met da Vinci in 1504, studied his paintings and admired his work. In 1508 he moved to Rome, became the chief architect of St.Peter’s Basillica. He was chosen not because he was more talented, but because he brought his work to the end. Michelangelo envied him. Rafael died and did not finish the work on the cathedral. Michelangelo took the duty as an architect.
