It is a sacrament through which the Holy Spirit comes to us in a special way and enables us to profess our faith as strong and perfect Christians of Jesus Christ.

4 The sacramental for Confirmation is…
the dove Overall, what does the dove represent in the Christian faith? The Holy Spirit

5 Confirmation is… “Insurance” A sign of maturity
Makes us certain that we will always be followers of Jesus Christ A sign of maturity strengthens our bond within the Catholic Church as we reach adulthood this is why we are Confirmed in our teenage years

6 How to prepare for Confirmation…
We receive the sacraments of Baptism, Penance and Holy Eucharist prior to Confirmation Participate in voluntary works/community service (ministers to our community) Choose a saint that you would model yourself after. This will be your “Confirmation name.” Attend Mass every Sunday during the course of preparation.

7 How to prepare for Confirmation…
Grow in pray and deepen awareness of God Candidates will choose a sponsor (someone above the age of 16 and a practicing Catholic) to assist in the Confirmation process Along the same lines as a godparent Candidate should choose someone who can be a good role model We receive Confirmation in the presence of a Bishop (not a priest)

8 Confirmation in the future…
Our graces after Confirmation can also be restored by consistently attending confession. Confirmation also leads to Sacraments of Service such as Holy Orders and Matrimony
