Key Terms Initiation- to be welcomed in or made part of something
Healing- to be made better Vocation- a job or role that you believe is God’s will for you to do. Sacrament- "a sign of the sacred” is the word for the seven sacred stages in people’s lives

The 7 Sacraments Baptism- When someone becomes part of the church.
Confirmation- When a person confirms that they still want to be part of the Church. Eucharist- The Mass service where we remember the sacrifice Jesus made for us and what it achieved. Bread and wine. Penance/Confession- Confessing our sins and having them forgiven. Anointing the sick- Preparing someone for heaven Matrimony- Marriage Holy Orders- Becoming a priest, a monk or a nun Write out the 7 sacraments and explain each one. Which three do you think are the sacraments of initiation? Which 2 do you think are the sacraments of healing? Which 2 do you think are the sacraments of vocation? What is a Sacrament? Which Sacraments do you think are the most important and why?

Divide your life (past and future) into seven stages. What is a ritual? Give three examples of rituals you have? What is a sacrament? How many sacraments are there? Why are the sacraments important for Christians today? (8)

They are sacred stages in your life which help you get closer to God. Baptism- filled with the holy spirit, part of the church Confirmation You confirm that you want to be part of the church Marriage Have children/ Have a deep relationship with someone Eucharist Accept Jesus’ sacrifice/Eternal life Confession Sins are forgiven/ Eternal life Anointing the sick Healing/ Being ready for death
