What is Learning Catalytics?
A “bring your own device” student engagement, assessment, and classroom intelligence system. Learning Catalytics was developed at Harvard University by Eric Mazur, Gary King, and Brian Lukoff. Pearson acquired Learning Catalytics in 2013.

How can I access Learning Catalytics?
Everyone can access it through their Pearson (MyMathLab(1001)/MyStatLab(1070)) account or through the Learning Catalytics Website.

How can it enhance my classes? Use Course id:
Log into your MyMathLab/MyStatLab. Select Learning Catalytics. In the top right hand corner, click on Student View. Enter the Course id for this session.

Questions? How is this different from just giving students a quiz?
Do I have to create all of my own questions? What is the hardest part about using Learning Catalytics? 1.) There are more options than multiple choice and fill in the blank. You can deliver the questions individually to make sure that students are tracking along. I personally like the format of the feedback better that it gives you. 2. That is optional. There are other instructors who have created questions already, and you can search through those. 3. Creating the questions does take a while, but after that, you can recopy modules to various classes.
