Always be ready to play a game with… who?
Sales Customers Stakeholders Dev Team Marketing Team Execs Mgrs Etc. etc
3
What are we going to do? Practice the skill in a supportive environment. Find some allies! We will pay a very simple game at each table, and I’ve added several variations for you to facilitate. Four games in total, but very rapidly… so I’ve seeded the games with metaphors. At the end we hope to discuss!

We are going to Play. Do. Learn.
Simple and Easy to finish! Yummy Plans! Delicious interactions! ...and it’s Frustruten-free!

Why the “EZ Bake Oven”? Mix it! Bake it! You’ve made it!
Mix: (the Recipe) Several People Your Question(s) Post-it Paper Pens (markers) Bake: (the group) 1 hour (or until set) Cool… (Yes!) it’s Done!

Post-Up! – The basic framework
The basic premise of a post-up is to get things up on the wall for team evaluation, visualization, planning, confirmation, and generally – Common Understanding! I like to take that basic concept and add metaphors that help jog the players’ mind into a more open, sharing attitude. Some are silly. But that is why they work! So, join me on the SpeedBoat!
7
Build a better conference!
8
Recipe #1 – Where are you wanting to finish?
Where do you want to go? What do you want to be when you are done?
9
Recipe #2 -- What are the explicit waypoints to get there?
Break down your path, working from the end backwards to understand “What will you have done?” in order to navigate your path towards an awesome Agile Conference.
10
Recipe #3 – What holds you back?
Thinking about your personal experience at conferences, and in context of the Goals and Waypoints you’ve created… what are the anchors that really have been a drag to your enjoyment of a conference?
11
Recipe #4 – What could possibly go wrong? (Incoming!)
Every project you have been involved in the past surely had things happen that was unexpected. Market, competition, re-orgs, executive disruption, etc. Draw from your experience and write down these “Incoming!” disruptions on the cards.
12
Three Basic Types of Games
Do you want to: Discover new things? Uncover unseen things? Connect Teams? Vent? Do you want to: Dive deeper? Clarify items? Explore scenarios? Expand the Audience? Do you want to: Agree on Actions? Build Consensus? Prioritize? Make Plans?
