2. Windows 7 is a big deal for Microsoft.
The pressure on Windows 7 is twofold: not only does the new Microsoft operating system need to wash away the bad taste left by Vista but it also launches at the tail end of a global recession.

Security has been tidied up considerably, to the point that it's actually usable in its default state. It's a vast improvement over the Vista version.

BitLocker-to-Go permits encryption of removable devices such as USB keys.
AppLocker lets admins use Group Policies to control what applications are allowed to run on a system

9. Flaws
The setting to hide file extensions for known file types. Bad guys have used that “feature” in the past to introduce malware onto systems and likely will do so again

10. Customers are not left completely without advice on enterprise use of Windows 7, with or without Server 2008 R2. Several free toolkits are available for download that offer assistance in determining application compatibility.
