Focus write #8: Comment on the Economics of Disneyland – What do you think the top 3 goals are of Disneyland – using the 7 goals from the homework as a guide & explain why you think those are their goals – as reflected in the way they distribute the resources in the park. 4. Discuss: The 7 American Goals 5. In groups of 3 you are going to use the Chromebooks to research laws, policies and institutions that reflect those 7 goals – give 3 examples for each

2. Focus write #9: Of the 4 roles of government (as seen in our homework)– put them in order of most important and describe why you ranked them the way you did. Focus on 1st & Last in the ranking 3. Check HW 4. Read: Economic costs of 911 5. Pair – Share; Use bullet points to describe the costs of the 911 attack as shown in the two handouts from the 10th anniversary of 911. Put each “cost” into one of 4 quadrants – 1) Direct costs of the attack, Indirect costs associated with 2) security / intelligence costs, 3) national defense costs, 4) continuing and future “human” costs. 6. TEST ON BLOCK DAY… STUDY GUIDE ONLINE. REVIEW TOMORROW.

Budgeting basics… 3. Read Pg. R4 & R5 – Answer Q’s 1 & 2 4. Using the chart provided as a rough “guide” I Estimate your current budget and next to those expenses who pays for those expenses. Your homework is to create a budget for next year. Your parents must sign off on it unless you don’t list them as being involved in next year’s budgetary outlay of money.
