1 Welcome! Mrs. Conner 4th Grade CTA, Room 45
Please visit the side table for papers and sign in. Please find your cubby on the side of the room and take the papers that are in there. Please fill out the pink student information sheet before you leave. You can leave any forms in my inbox next to my desk. All other forms should be returned on Monday. You may sit anywhere you want. The presentation will begin at 5:05.

Married 19 years with 4 daughters: Lauryn– 11th grade at BHS Madison – 9th grade at PHS Kendal – 4th grade at Carlson Jordyn – kindergarten at Carlson My life: Grew up in California. Moved here 12 years ago Passions outside of teaching: Family Basketball

4 CTA Spalding: Spalding App/Flashcards
Phonograms practiced nightly, if needed Spelling words are tested the following week Timed tests Focus on one operation each week 100 problems in 3 minutes Poetry 2 recitations each quarter Book Reports 1 book report each quarter We follow CTA Handbook for most items

5 Snack Snack time around 11 a.m. everyday Preferably healthier snacks
New snack everyday No sharing Please bring a water bottle every day!

6 Class Dojo Classroom management Post pictures and messages
Login for students and parents Free app Tracking points Fill out form daily Send home monthly

7 Accelerated Reader Each student will take a test on the computer to determine their reading level. Each student will have a goal based on their reading ability. New goal each quarter. They will take A.R. tests on the computer when they complete the book. They should be testing on books read at home. Each test is worth a specific number of points. ZPD

8 Technology Class set of Kindles
Please approve use of technology on forms Kindle contract Weekly reading tests are online

9 Homework Purpose is to reinforce skills and give feedback
Weekly homework calendar Will adjust during the week Weekly spelling assignments (Spellingcity.com on Wednesday nights) Reviewed first thing the following morning Exceptions (send a note or ) Study Hall in lieu of recess if not completed

10 Wrangler of the Week One person per week
Poster will come home on Friday and due back on Monday. Perks Poster displayed for the week Line leader Decision maker Letters from peers

13 Monday Don’t forget your water bottle and school supplies.
Go to bed early on Sunday.  Bell rings at 8:30 a.m. School will begin at 8:35 a.m. Our special on Monday is PE. Don’t forget your lunch and know how you will be getting home. Boo Hoo! Yahoo! Breakfast at 8:30 for parents
