About this program Water and Energy Grant for MFR and CII
Through California Department of Water Resources Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund and California Climate Investments to combat climate change and grow California’s clean-energy economy The grant is being implemented by RWA Through reimbursements for the installation of water-energy saving bathroom fixtures

Fixtures that can be replaced
Older water-energy wasting bathroom fixtures Toilets – older models flushing at greater than gallons per flush (pre-1994) Urinals – older models flushing at greater than 1 gallon per flush (circa 1992) Showerheads – all older models are eligible Faucet Aerators – all flows and types are eligible

New fixtures that qualify
Must have the label to ensure high-efficiency and performance Toilets – 1.28 gallons per flush or less Urinals – 0.5 gallon per flush or less Showerheads – up to 2.0 gallons per minute Faucet Aerators 0.5 gpm for commercial bathrooms 1.5 gpm for residential bathrooms 1.5 gpm for kitchen hand-washing sinks

Where to purchase new fixtures
Shop local At hardware, plumbing or home improvement stores Contract with A licensed plumber for the fixtures and installation Shop online Purchase fixtures and then arrange for installation

How they are installed Participant provides the installation labor
Use outside contractor or in-house staff labor No reimbursement for labor (fixtures only) Complete the installation with 120 days Return project pre-approval form with receipts Separate labor from fixtures on contractor’s invoice

How to dispose of the old fixtures
Responsibility of participant to dispose of the old fixtures Within Sacramento County at Kiefer Landfill Within City of Sacramento at L and D Landfill Old fixtures cannot be donated or reused

Available reimbursements
Site maximums are on a case-by-case basis Reimbursements per fixture can include sales tax up to a maximum of Toilets and Urinals – $ each Showerheads – $15.00 each Faucet Aerators – $2.50 each

First step is to check for eligibility
This program is only available to Sites served by a Regional Water Authority water provider in the Sacramento region Sites within or serving a disadvantaged community as defined by the terms of the grant Sites are pre-screened for eligibility Just call or with the street address

How to participate Schedule a brief onsite inspection to
Identify water-energy wasting older fixtures Receive pre-approval for their replacement Purchase and install new eligible fixtures Submit pre-approval form for reimbursement with receipts or contractor’s invoice

What happens after installation
Reimbursements are processed by RWA Up to $1,000 receive check within 45 days Over $1,000 receive a check within 90 to 120 days Verification of new fixtures Either onsite with RWA’s inspector or by Supporting documentation (invoice marked paid) Inspection performed before or after processing

6 steps to receive reimbursement (after pre-screening)
SCHEDULE an onsite inspection RECEIVE written pre-approval for replacements DECIDE which fixtures you want to install PURCHASE eligible fixtures INSTALL fixtures using contract or in-house labor SUBMIT approval form with receipts or contractor’s invoice to request reimbursement
