All entering freshmen and transfer students can be in a small community at a large school! Living-Learning Communities (L-LCs) Reach Communities Targeted Learning Communities Freshman and Transfer Seminars Writing and Critical Inquiry Class

Live with other students who share your intended major or interest areas Take 1-2 classes together with others from your residence hall for built-in academic support Get to know faculty and current students Be engaged outside the classroom

Some programs already include housing Division I Athletic teams Honors College Some programs include co-curricular activities and classes and make scheduling a challenge EOP Some majors require specific and sequenced classes that conflict with L-LC classes

Targeted Learning Communities Students live together who are taking a large lecture class Tutoring and mentoring for that class take place on the Res Life floor Faculty review sessions HAVE FRIENDS TO GO TO CLASS AND STUDY WITH REACH Communities Staff mentor Weekly community lunch No common classes PLAN TO PARTICIPATE IN FUN ACTIVITIES WITH PEOPLE ON YOUR HALL
