Single-Family Houses Custom houses are specifically designed & built for the owner Distinctive Cost more Tract houses are built by a developer who builds an entire neighborhood Limited to a few basic designs Less expensive than custom

Single-Family Houses Manufactured houses/”Pre-fab” are made in a factory and moved to a site Most require assembly at the final site Mass produced parts- save on costs Mobile homes are completely assembled at a factory (plumbing, electric, heating, furnishings)

Apartments: Wide variety from low cost to very expensive May include laundry rooms, recreational facilities, stores, parking spaces Residents pay a monthly fee. Utilities may be included

A cooperative is a multiunit building owned by and operated for the benefit of residents Buy stock in the corporation/receives housing unit (monthly fee for upkeep and repairs) - Stockholders decide how the co-op is run and who can live there

A condominium is an individually owned housing unit in a multi-unit structure Owners can sell w/o the approval of other owners Shared common areas (halls, pools, parking) Monthly fee for building upkeep
