22 How many of your friends, family, neighbors, etc
How many of your friends, family, neighbors, etc., would start shopping here if these various changes were enacted? This data needs to be taken with a grain of salt, as many answers were imprecise (“lots,” “some”). Also, it is hard to measure the overlap between respondents’ answers – multiple owners could have all been thinking of the same set of friends and neighbors as they made their counts. Tiered ownership: 147 Open shop for all: 162 Move downtown: 177 Add more conventional products: 107 Increase store hours: 94

26 Tiered Ownership vs. Open Shop Proposals
Of the 57 non-owners who responded to the survey, 34 said they would join the co-op if the tiered ownership proposal were enacted, 9 said they might join (depending on what the markup and ownership fee were), and 14 said they still would not join the co-op if this change were enacted. Those who said they either would join or might join estimated that they’d spend about $135 per month at the co-op on average, representing an increase of between $4,500 and $5,700 per month in total sales. If the open shop proposal were enacted, the fifty-seven respondents collectively estimated that they’d spend about $8,250 per month at the co-op (around $145 per person per month).
