Read Write Inc All Year 1 pupils will be having Read Write Inc phonics and reading sessions 4x a week. There will be a comment from your child’s RWI teacher at the end of each week in their Reading Diary. More information will be given at the Literacy meeting on Wednesday 21st September. Lois

Additional individual reading once a fortnight from class adult We recommend daily home supported reading – please record in diary If no comment in the Diary for a fortnight, office will text a reminder Decoding AND interpreting texts (comprehension) Weekly Library session (with your help!) Maths Mastery We are teaching maths using a new Maths Mastery scheme this year. All Year 1 children will also take part in ‘Maths Moments’ throughout the week. Ask your child if they can remember some of the songs and rhymes they have already learnt. More information will be given at the Maths meeting on Tuesday 27th September (7-8pm). Beth

Bits and Pieces! Healthy School Practise: Birthdays Toys
Avoid chocolate, nuts and sweets in lunchboxes Provide a water bottle Provide shorts, T-shirt and pumps for PE Birthdays We celebrate birthdays in class by giving a card and singing and ask you not to send in birthday treats. We do not give out birthday invitations at school. Toys Keep toys at home as they can get broken or lost. Show and Tell items should relate to learning/topic Uniform and belongings Clearly label with your child’s name. Please ensure your child has a coat for cold weather! Celina

The dates for the year (as much as possible!) have been ed out from the office – paper copies are available at your class table. Photos New legislation: Please fill in a photo permission form on your class table – unless written permission is given for each specific area this may affect your childs’ involvement. (e.g. – play) Lois
