3 raft (n.) Definition: a simple flat boat made by tying long pieces of wood together Example: We took a raft to the other side of the river. Let’s build rafts and have a race in the lake. Ask: What would be the best building materials for a good raft?

4 downstream (adv.) Define: the direction that a river or stream is flowing Example: It was fun to float downstream in our raft. The water from the mountains flows downstream to the ocean. Ask: What is the antonym of downstream? List: Places Downstream of Taipei

5 scatter/ scattered (v.)
Define: spread here and there over a large area Example: The toys were scattered all over the floor. The artist scatters drops of blue paint on the white paper. Ask: Can one thing scatter? What would be funny to see fall and scatter? What is scattered on your bedroom floor?

6 clutter/ cluttered (v.)
Define: when a place is messy because there are too many things there Example: His room was cluttered with things all over the walls and floor. There was a messy collection of things cluttered in the drawers of the desk. Ask: How is scattered different from cluttered? What is a synonym for cluttered? What is an antonym for cluttered?

7 disgust/ disgusted (v.)
Define: to have a sick feeling of strong dislike Example: Everyone was disgusted by the awful smell in the bathroom. Eating chicken feet is enjoyed by Chinese people, but it disgusts the Canadians. List: Things that I’m Disgusted By If I say something that disgusts you, say ‘that’s disgusting’. If I don’t, say not. -dirty bathroom -stinky fart -eating a cockroach -money -drinking pee -rainbows

8 nuzzle (v.) Define: to press your nose or face gently against something Example: The cat will nuzzle my leg when she is hungry and wants to be fed. The mama bear nuzzles her cubs when its time to go upstream. Ask: How is nuzzle different from a hug? Do: Nuzzle your pencil case.
