Sponsor scholarships , support education of aspiring students majoring in Hospitality including Foodservice, Senior Living and related industries Connect benefits and information among those engaged in all aspects of the Hospitality industry Create industry access to education, scholarship, seminars, trade shows, career network, leadership and awards of excellence Serves the hospitality industry, students, educators and NEWH membership STUDENT & EDUCATOR BENEFITS

3 School Eligibility STUDENT & EDUCATOR BENEFITS
Students majoring in Hospitality, Foodservice, Senior Living or related fields An eligible school is defined as one that is fully accredited; to include: -Baccalaureate Colleges -Community College -Two-year and certificate programs (related to the hospitality industry) or their equivalent A four-year degree is not part of the criteria for NEWH chapter scholarships (we do award to Community Colleges) School holds scholarship funds in trust for the student to draw down upon on as "an as needed" basis without any service charges STUDENT & EDUCATOR BENEFITS

5 Scholarship FAQ’s STUDENT & EDUCATOR BENEFITS
Scholarships are open to International students; US citizenship is not a requirement Scholarship is open only to colleges within the territory of the Regional Group NEWH membership is not required to apply for scholarship; however membership is FREE for students and full-time educators Awarded scholarship funds are made payable to students’ college Scholarship funds can be used for tuition, books or supplies If you graduate before the scholarship can be awarded you do not qualify Unused scholarship funds must be returned to NEWH, Inc. Students can apply and receive Regional Group scholarships and NEWH, Inc. scholarships (ICON, Sustainable Design Competition, etc.) STUDENT & EDUCATOR BENEFITS

6 NEWH Regional Group Scholarship Criteria
Currently enrolled student attending an accredited college Completion of half of the requirements for a degree or certification in the program currently enrolled Show financial need and have eligible debt for tuition, books or supplies at time of scholarship award Must have a 3.0 accumulative GPA/B average of equivalent Have a career objective in one of the areas of the Hospitality Industry, such as Hotel/Restaurant Management, Culinary/Foodservice, Architecture, Interior Design, etc. Must also provide: Student Essay Official Transcript Letters of recommendation example from: Dept. Head, Professors, Advisor Letters of recommendation example from: industry professionals, past/current employers, etc. STUDENT & EDUCATOR BENEFITS

$4,000 Scholarship – NEWH Product Design Competition sponsored by Symmons Industries Faucet Design competition Final submissions judged by panel of industry professionals Must have completed half of the requirements for an undergraduate degree or be enrolled in a graduate program Students honored at industry trade show event with paid airfare and lodging provided by NEWH, Inc. NEWH Sustainable Hospitality Design Competition – $5,000 Undergraduate Scholarship & $5,000 Graduate Scholarship Design competition; project criteria changes annually Junior level and above Attending accredited program; minimum 4-year program or graduate program Instructors can use competition as a class project; submitting top 5 projects Projects judged by panel of industry professionals Winners honored at industry event with airfare and lodging provided by NEWH, Inc. Sponsored by JLF lone meadow and Applied Textiles STUDENT & EDUCATOR BENEFITS

9 NEWH, Inc. Scholarships for Hospitality Interior Design Students
SCHOLARSHIP CRITERIA: Must be a currently enrolled student attending an accredited college Must have completed half the requirements for an undergraduate degree or be enrolled in a graduate program Must show financial need and have eligible outstanding debt for tuition, books or supplies at time of award Must have a minimum 3.0 accumulative GPA/B average or equivalent Must be pursuing a career objective in the area of the Hospitality Industry in Interior Design $5,000 Scholarship – NEWH/Harvey Nudelman Scholarship Winner honored in May at HD Expo in Las Vegas with paid airfare and lodging provided $7,500 Scholarship – NEWH ICON Additional requirement: Must have participated in an industry internship program or similar position Winner honored in November at Boutique Design’s Gold Key Gala in New York City with paid airfare and lodging provided $5,000 Scholarship – NEWH Clifford R. Tuttle Scholarship Winner honored in November at HD Platinum Circle Gala in New York City with paid airfare and lodging provided STUDENT & EDUCATOR BENEFITS

SCHOLARSHIP CRITERIA: Must be a currently enrolled student attending an accredited college Must have completed half the requirements for an undergraduate degree or be enrolled in a graduate program Must show financial need and have eligible outstanding debt for tuition, books or supplies at time of award Must have a minimum 3.0 accumulative GPA/B average or equivalent Must be pursuing a career objective in the area of the Hospitality Industry in Interior Design $5,000 Scholarship – NEWH Ken Schindler Memorial Scholarship Winner honored in November at HD Platinum Circle Gala in New York City with paid airfare and lodging provided $3,000 Scholarship – Sponsored by Séura Open to Hospitality Interior Design or Architecture students Winner honored in April at Boutique Design’s Power Players Breakfast and Panel Discussion in Los Angeles with paid airfare and lodging provided STUDENT & EDUCATOR BENEFITS
