4 L: Sisters and brothers, we gather here, where God would teach us:
*CALL TO WORSHIP L: Sisters and brothers, we gather here, where God would teach us: P: So we may learn to be more compassionate, so we may be taught how to be more loving.

5 L: Friends, we gather here as God’s people, where Jesus would teach us:
P: The wisdom to choose forgiveness over holding a grudge;

6 the language of hope so we may speak to all.
L: We gather here, where the Spirit grants wisdom, P: So we might learn how to share the grace and to walk in God’s ways.

7 L: Let us worship God. P: Let us worship God!

8 *Hymn #263 “Immortal, Invisible God Only Wise” v.1
Immortal, invisible, God only wise, In light inaccessible hid from our eyes, Most blessed, most glorious, the Ancient of Days, Almighty, victorious, Thy great name we praise.

9 *Hymn #263 “Immortal, Invisible God Only Wise” v.2
Unresting, unhasting, and silent as light, Nor wanting, nor wasting, Thou rulest in might;

10 *Hymn #263 “Immortal, Invisible God Only Wise” v.2
Thy justice like mountains high soaring above Thy clouds, which are fountains of goodness and love.

11 *Hymn #263 “Immortal, Invisible God Only Wise” v.3
To all, life Thou givest, to both great and small; In all life Thou livest, the true life of all; We blossom and flourish like leaves on the tree, Then wither and perish; but naught changeth Thee.

12 *Hymn #263 “Immortal, Invisible God Only Wise” v.4
Thou reignest in glory, Thou rulest in light, Thine angels adore Thee, all veiling their sight; All praise we would render; O help us to see ‘Tis only the splendor of light hideth Thee!

13 *PRAYER OF CONFESSION (unison)
Merciful Lord, we like to think that we do everything well. We pat ourselves on the back when we act with love or mercy toward others,

14 complimenting ourselves in self-righteousness. But you know us better
complimenting ourselves in self-righteousness. But you know us better. You know our faults and our failings. You know when we falsely believe that we are living as you would have us live.

15 Teach us again about your forgiving and healing love
Teach us again about your forgiving and healing love. Show us ways of merciful living that we may extend the love and mercy you have given us to others.

16 Forgive us and heal us, we pray
Forgive us and heal us, we pray. (Silence is observed for individual reflection and prayer)

17 P: Thanks be to God for love and forgiveness. Amen.
ASSURANCE OF PARDON L: Rejoice! You are loved by God who judges your failures and heals your hearts and spirits. In Jesus’ Name, we are all forgiven and healed. P: Thanks be to God for love and forgiveness. Amen.

19 Time With Young Christians

20 PROCLAIMING THE WORD SCRIPTURE READING: Ezekiel 33:7-11

21 So you, mortal, I have made a sentinel for the house of Israel; whenever you hear a word from my mouth, you shall give them warning from me. If I say to the wicked, ‘O wicked ones, you shall surely die,

22 and you do not speak to warn the wicked to turn from their ways, the wicked shall die in their iniquity, but their blood I will require at your hand. But if you warn the wicked to turn from their ways,

23 and they do not turn from their ways, the wicked shall die in their iniquity, but you will have saved your life. Now you, mortal, say to the house of Israel, Thus you have said: ‘Our transgressions and sins weigh upon us,

24 and we waste away because of them; how then can we live
and we waste away because of them; how then can we live?’ Say to them, As I live, says the Lord God, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but that the wicked turn from their ways and live; turn back, turn back from your evil ways;

25 for why will you die, O house of Israel?

26 SCRIPTURE READING: Psalm 119:33-40

27 Teach me, O Lord, the way of your statutes, and I will observe it to the end. Give me understanding, that I may keep your law and observe it with my whole heart. Lead me in the path of your commandments, for I delight in it.

28 Turn my heart to your decrees, and not to selfish gain
Turn my heart to your decrees, and not to selfish gain. Turn my eyes from looking at vanities; give me life in your ways. Confirm to your servant your promise, which is for those who fear you. Turn away the disgrace that I dread,

29 for your ordinances are good
for your ordinances are good. See, I have longed for your precepts; in your righteousness give me life. L: This is the Word of the Lord. P: Thanks be to God!
