12 2. The blowing of the trumpets in the end times
Matthew 24 30 “Then will appear the sign of the Son of Man in heaven. And then all the peoples of the earth will mourn when they see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven, with power and great glory. 31 And he will send his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other.

13 Trumpet call Angels will gather the elect

14 1 Corinthians 15 51 Listen, I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed—52 in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed. 53 For the perishable must clothe itself with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality.

15 We will not “sleep” We will be changed It will happen in an instant It will happen at the sounding of the last trumpet The gathering of Matthew 24 refers to the resurrection event

16 1 Thessalonians 4 13 Brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope. … 16 For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever.

17 We have a great hope in the resurrection, unlike the world that has no hope.
Jesus will come down from heaven There will be a loud command [to raise the dead] Command in the form of the voice of the archangel and trumpet call The dead in Christ will rise first Those alive will be transformed with them to meet the Lord (rapture) We will then be with the Lord forever

18 Revelation 1115 The seventh angel sounded his trumpet, and there were loud voices in heaven, which said: “The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Messiah, and he will reign for ever and ever.”

19 Revelation has the scheme of seven
Prophetic and proleptic declaration The resurrection / change (rapture) event at the sounding of the trumpet The kingdom of the world becomes the kingdom of Messiah. The reign of Messiah on earth = the time of the resurrection / change (rapture)

20 2 Thessalonians 2 3 Don’t let anyone deceive you in any way, for that day will not come until the rebellion occurs and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the man doomed to destruction. 4 He will oppose and will exalt himself over everything that is called God or is worshiped, so that he sets himself up in God’s temple, proclaiming himself to be God.

21 The Day of the Lord will not come until the rebellion and the man of lawlessness is revealed
Man of lawlessness at the start of the tribulation Resurrection / change (rapture) will not happen until that happens Revelation 11 suggests resurrection is followed by the rule of Christ (millennial rule) More likely post-tribulation resurrection / change (rapture) Post-trib rapture resolves the complicated problem of the body of those converted during the tribulation. What happens to their bodies?

22 John 5 25 Very truly I tell you, a time is coming and has now come when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God and those who hear will live. 28 “Do not be amazed at this, for a time is coming when all who are in their graves will hear his voice 29 and come out— those who have done what is good will rise to live, and those who have done what is evil will rise to be condemned.

23 3. The Christian celebration of the blowing of the trumpet
God will call us to a resurrection through the trumpet call. Those who are alive will be changed to join the resurrected saints (rapture). The Rosh HaShanah is the celebration of hope for the physical redemption of our bodies

24 3. The Christian celebration of the blowing of the trumpet
For the young and the strong For the old For the sick
