Designed to ensure that any career choice is not closed off to students in terms of future progression. To respond to research that shows the clear advantages in terms of learning skills and understanding gained from MFL, Geography and History. Russell Group Guide identifies ‘facilitating subjects’.

NATIONAL CHANGES TO GCSE QUALIFICATIONS
GCSEs have been reformed in almost all subjects with a new grading system The grades will be numbers instead of letters The highest grade will be number 9 The lowest grade will be number 1

New grade 4 equates to current grade C New grade 7 equates to current grade A “A good pass” will be a grade 5

KEY STAGE 4 OPTIONS Core Subjects English Language and Literature
Mathematics Combined Science (equivalent to 2 GCSEs) RE European Computer Driving Licence PE/Games

KEY STAGE 4 OPTIONS Pathway 1: Core + minimum of 2 from Computer Science, French, Geography, German, History, Spanish, Triple Science plus 1 other subject.

KEY STAGE 4 OPTIONS Pathway 2: Core + minimum of 1 from Computer Science, French, Geography, German, History, Spanish, Triple Science plus 2 other subjects.

KEY STAGE 4 OPTIONS We will try to accommodate all the choices that are made. If we cannot do this we will look to use the reserve choice subjects. Any problems with the choices made we will contact you. We reserve the right to review whether some courses will run, depending on numbers.

Options Evening – Thursday 2 February Year 9 Progress Review Evening – Thursday 2 March Option forms returned – Monday 6 March
