Acts 2:41-42

Prayers must be sincere.
You ask and do not receive, because you ask amiss, that you may spend it on your pleasures. James 4:3 Prayers must be sincere.

A petition can be defined as “an earnest request” Yet you do not have because you do not ask. James 4:2b Prayers can be petitions & supplications

Prayers should can be pleading & intercessions.
Intercessory – prayer, petition, or entreaty in favor of another Prayers should can be pleading & intercessions.

Prayers should can be pleading & intercessions.
For this reason we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; Colossians 1:9 Prayers should can be pleading & intercessions.

Prayers can be gratitude & thanksgiving.
Gratitude & thanksgiving should be a daily part of the Christian life. And He took the seven loaves and the fish and gave thanks, broke them and gave them to His disciples; and the disciples gave to the multitude. Matthew 15:36 Prayers can be gratitude & thanksgiving.

Pray with understanding
Understanding what we are praying for, is it important? Why? What is the conclusion then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will also pray with the understanding. I will sing with the spirit, and I will also sing with the understanding. 1 Corinthians 14:15 Pray with understanding

1. In our prayers in worship we pray with God’s people not for God’s people. 2. We should remember we are “leading” the prayer. Thus, we say “we pray” not “I pray” Content of prayers in Worship

Conclusion God will answer our prayers if we pray in faith.
