24. In Camborne we celebrate a man called Richard Trevithick who made the first steam engine.

Trevithick day is where we have fun and we get to see the steam engine and watch the parade .
There is lots to see and there is a fair to have fun.
Also there is loads of shows to see.

26. Richard Trevithick In 1771 13th April, Richard was born.
In 1790 he started work at a mine called Stray Park Mine.
In 1808 the first ever railway tickets were given in London for paying passengers.
1812 patent for Cornish boiler.
1823 After military service he is back in the mines but further see him leave Peru for Ecudor.
In 1833 he dies at the Bull Hotel.

There are two dances. One is for the children, it is known as the Bal Maidens dance. This dance is with the miniature steam engines. The second dance is for the adults and is the main dance .
