What do you do to get it? Discuss as a class What is democracy? Why is it so important? What have people done to earn the right to vote (give examples you know about)?

4 4 Old enough to vote? Since 1969 the minimum voting age for British citizens is 18. On 29, January 2003 a coalition of charitable and political organisations launched the campaign Votes at 16, aimed at lowering the voting age to 16 years old. As a result of the campaign the Isle of Man, Jersey and Guernsey reduced their voting ages to sixteen. Should 16 year olds in the rest of Britain be given the right to vote? Discuss.
