2. Partner Chat Activities
Partner Chat activities require two students to work together synchronously to complete a conversation on a given topic.
To prepare:
Instructors may appoint partners. Students’ are responsible to arrange a meeting to complete this task on time.
Computers being used to complete partner chat activity must have the most recent version of Flash Player installed, regardless of the browser being used.
A functioning webcam and headset with a microphone or speakers must be connected in order to complete a partner chat activity.

3. Partner Chat Activities
When opening a partner chat activity for the first time, students will be prompted to allow access to their system’s Microphone and Webcam.
Select the “Allow” radio button. Students may opt to select the “Remember” checkbox if they access their VHL Central account > Partner Chat activities from their personal computer.

4. Partner Chat Activities
Students may also select a classmate to complete the partner chat activity, by clicking on a name available within the “Choose a partner” list. They will need to make sure that the selected person is online and available.
A Green dot will appear for available partners
After selection is made, an invite notification will be sent and received. Clicking on the “Accept” button will connect both partners.
This notification will only be available for 30 seconds and removed if the target partner does not respond
-The target partner needs to make sure that he/she clicks on “show my video” and “accept”

5. Partner Chat Activities
After connection is established by both students, we recommended them to perform the following steps:
Test audio and video (microphone and webcam)
Review activity directions, reference links and activity models (if applicable).
Decide upon individual responsibilities (who will click on the “Record” button and who will click on the “Submit” button when done).
Click the “Record” button to start on Partner Chat activity.

6. Partner Chat Activities
The recording starts automatically:
The REC (red dot) icon on the right-side of video screen indicates that the recording is in progress.
The volume indicator around the recording stop button also indicates that the recording is in progress.
Click the “Play Back” button to review the recording before submitting it. Recording will be played for both partners.
To re-record, click the “Re-record” button. When prompted, click “OK” to confirm and proceed to redo the activity (not on image).
Students may record themselves as many times as they want. To finalize the recording, click on the “submit” button (not on image).
