Garden Program Launch (three-year partnership) Teacher Training Evergreen Support (yearly) Student Design Competition – Learning and engagement begins with garden design Design & Dine Event – Over dinner your community helps finalize the garden design, building buy-in and support The Big Dig – Community barn-raising style event builds the garden in one day* Three years of teacher training: All-staff training unites the school staff around the garden to ensure everyone is invested in its success Teacher-to-Teacher trainings makes using the outdoor classroom easy Advanced-level training promotes broad subject mastery Standards-based lesson plans – Empowers teachers to quickly and easily use the garden for instruction REAL Results Report – Tracks garden usage, teacher satisfaction and student progress * Schools with existing gardens can simply add specific learning features to launch their program. Digging In Training – A full day jumpstart on the basics of outdoor instruction for every teacher Teacher-to-Teacher Training-Expert educators visit the school to conduct one-on-one on-the-job training with teachers in the learning garden Subject-Specific Deep Dives –Educators train groups of teachers from specific subject areas or grade levels Digging Deeper Training – A full day of more advanced training adds to educators outdoor teaching skill sets REAL Results Report (for long-term programs) Garden Sustainability: Garden Coordinator training and stipend Mentoring and garden supplies Priority consideration for garden enhancement opportunities and volunteer days.
