2. General History
Since 1896 the Olympic games have been held in various countries around the world like Chamonix, Lake Placed, Calgary, Ampezzo, and Salt Lake City. Some have even been consoled from world war II. This years is held in Vancouver.
                                      

3. motto
Olympians have a motto that is this: Citius, Alius, Fortius. It is Latin for Swifter, Higher, Stronger. They say that because that is exactly what they want to be in the Olympics.

4. flame
Months before the games are held the flame is lit on a torch. When the torch is taken out of Greece it is often to be taken around the contrary where the games are held.

5. colors
The 5 Olympic rings represent something besides the Olympics. The rings also represent all the continents of the world !

6. Gregor Schlierenzauer
Gregor is an Olympian in ski jumping. He was born in Rum Austria on January 7th, He still lives in Austria today. He is a male.

In ski jumping you need things like heavy skis, ski suits, a helmet, but NO ski poles!

8. Uses of Equipment
The heavy skis are made that way because of the skiing discipline. The suits are flexible for comfort. The helmet is made to of course to keep the head safe.
