General History Since 1896 the Olympic games have been held in Chamonix,St. Mortz, Lake Placid, Calgary, Ampezzo. This year they are benign held in Vancouver .

Motto The motto is Citius, Alius, Fortius. It is Hendiatris Latin for Swifter, Higher, and Stronger.

Olympic flame That it was carried by boats and plane and it is lit three months before the Olympic games.

Olympic rings The Olympic rings represent the five continents of the world,America ,Europe,Asia, and Australia

Snowboarding Snowboarding made its Olympic debut at the 1998 Olympic Winter Games, at a time when the sport was still seeking some measure of global acceptance. The equipment that would be a helmet nee pad,arm pads,and the snowboard and straps.

Snowboarding events There are six snowboarding events on the 2010 Olympic program: Men's halfpipe Women's halfpipe Men's parallel giant slalom Women's parallel giant slalom Men's snowboard cross Women's snowboard cross

Seth Wescott In 2006, Seth Wescott solidified his
status as the world's preeminent competitor in snowboarding's newest Olympic event with a gold medal in snowboard cross...When he's not competing on the World Cup circuit, the pensive, well-spoken veteran can be found making first descents down treacherous Alaskan slopes, which he has described as "total chaos"... The 33-year old is making his second Olympic appearance in Vancouver.
