Methodology The data for this study were based on Science Citation Index (SCI) database on the Institute for Scientific Information (ISI), Philadelphia, PA, U.S.A. The research papers analysis were obtained upon literature search with defined Source Title: Annual Review of Immunology. Results and Discussion A total of 516 papers were published in Annual Review of Immunology with citations during the time span from 1983 to Most papers were published by United States contributing about 68%. 99% of the papers were in the form of Review, 0.57% editorial material, 0.38% article and 0.19% Item about an Individual. Publication output, citation, CPP and RCR of various publishing countries P:Publication, IP: International collaboration publication NP: National collaboration publication, C: Citation CPP: Citation per publication, RCR:Relative citation rate Annual publication output and CPP from 1983 to 2002 Publication output, citation, CPP and RCR of publishing states in USA Conclusion 516 papers were published by 19 countries and the USA has dominated with the publication of 75% followed by the second ranking with a thirteen-fold less. This USA dominance in publication suggested that national bias was hidden in the publication patterns. California, Maryland and Massachusetts states have dominated with the publication of 69% in USA’s publications. 80% publications by small group collaborations (1 to 3 authors) was a popular method as co-authorship. Seven major industrial countries (U.S.A., Japan, Germany, U.K., France, Italy and Canada) represent a share of 96% of world publications and 96% of world citations in Annual Review of Immunology. 91% publication in Annual Review of Immunology were independent work to national.
