Bus Duty Procedure Mornings: Afternoons:
School doors open at 7:00 a.m. Students must go to gym until 7:35. Breakfast is served From 7:00-7:30. Afternoons: Bus riders are dismissed first. Car riders may be picked up in the front or back. I recommend picking up in the front due to shorter line. Please choose and let me know ASAP where your child will need to go. YOU MUST HAVE YELLOW SIGN.

Attendance: School hours are 7:45 – 2:45
If child is absent, a written excuse is required (dr. note or parent note) 3 parent notes are allowed per semester Excessive unexcused absences/ tardiness can lead to Campus Court (early check-out is considered a tardy) Perfect Attendance purposes: a child who checks in after 11:15 or checks out after 11:16 is counted absent for the day

Snacks & Water Bottles We will have one snack. It will be in the afternoon during recess. This will be a snack that you provide for your child. Water bottles are allowed but MUST have the pull top lid.

Cafeteria Fast food meals & soft drinks are not allowed
You may come eat lunch with your child any time Breakfast: $1.25 Lunch: $2.05 Milk: $.45 (may be charged) Ice Cream – child must bring cash and is responsible for taking it to cafeteria to purchase ice cream. Ice cream can be purchased any day of the week. Cost is $.50. Please fill out free/reduced lunch form, even if you do not want it or need it.

Agenda / Communication
Please check agenda daily. This is our primary form of communication. Please place all monies in labeled envelope and put in child’s agenda in the back pocket. Any money/forms due must be turned in by 9:00 a.m. on the due date. Place any notes that I need in the back pocket of agenda or you may write in the agenda. I will record behavior daily in agenda. Newsletter will be sent home on Friday. It will contain homework schedule. Remind 101 – I will text reminders. You may text me. Take Home Folder will contain daily work as well as parent information and/or forms to be completed. Sent home daily.

Hopewell Houses: This is a system that was created to promote a positive and energetic learning environment. Same team as last year New students will spin for house color Earn points for outstanding positive behavior House events each 9 weeks 10 essential rules – learning about manners and positive behavior You may reorder a t-shirt ($5)

Behavior Management: School rules and classroom rules are expected to be followed Golden Tickets – students earn tickets for positive behavior and lose tickets for misbehavior / failure to make good choices 12 golden tickets by Friday = prize from coupon book Unfinished work will be sent home and must be turned in the next day. Excessive late work will result in loss of golden ticket. Loss of golden ticket = 5 minutes of structured physical activity (walking) Students are not allowed to sit out at recess Loss of 3 or more golden tickets = silent lunch Check agenda daily for behavior report. Behavior form / Gold ticket report will be sent home on Friday. Please sign and return on Monday.

Class Parties 2 class parties are allowed Christmas, Valentine’s Day
Birthday – we will celebrate birthdays at the end of each month. YOU MAY NOT SEND SPECIAL TREATS ON DAY OF BIRTHDAY. We will celebrate the last Friday of the month. All class treats must be store bought and not homemade.

No Mrs. Parker More independent, more responsibility Learning more sound patterns – better readers A LOT of adding & subtracting NEW – Reading workshop (grades K-2) Rocket Math – learning math facts Grades- if a grade is on paper, it has been recorded in grade book No re-do on tests Failing papers may be corrected – average of 2 grades will be final grade

Read with your child 20 minutes daily. Data notebook will come home with report cards. Star Student – one child per week 2 field trips per year – Students MUST ride bus Parent Conferences – scheduled at your request Medication must be given through the nurse. Collect Box Tops Scholastic book orders will go home monthly One pullout daily. Friday pullout will be on newsletter. Writing Workshop – make collage of family pics on cardstock Parent Volunteers are needed to make copies, tear out workbook pages, A.R. test, etc.

Here are samples from my Power Point that I have constantly running on my Smart Board during Open House. The slides can be used to make your own Power Point. The pictures had to be flattened due to copyright but you can simply edit the text boxes and your own information. The fonts may look different on your screen if they are not downloaded onto your computer. You can change the font to fit your needs. One of the fonts used in this product is from kevinandamanda.com. It is called Pea Katrina. It can be downloaded from their website for free if you want to use it.
