CFDNAIP Set up a company to commercialize innovative method for isolation of circulating nucleosomes from Plasma. Specific histone markers will be employed to develop specific enrichment techniques. Goal is to provide NIPT services and replace all kinds of invasive procedures such as: amniocentesis, CVS.

Why study cffDNA ? Genetic makeup.
To determine various abnormalities in the developing fetus such as: Aneuploidy- Trisomy 21/18/13. Sex Chromosomes abnormalities- Turner syndrome & fragile X syndrome. Special tests (if indicated by family history)- Tay Sachs, sickle cell, muscular dystrophy etc. Enhance NIPT. No risks of spontaneous abortion/miscarriage.

Cell-free fetal DNA (cffDNA)
Trophoblastic apoptosis releases cffDNA. Another source apoptosis of fetal cells Maternal blood10-15 % fetal DNA. cffDNA can be obsv. 6th week of gestation. % cffDNA as the pregnancy progresses. cffDNA is quickly cleared after birth undetectable in maternal blood 2h after birth.
