We are committed to nothing less than every West County child graduating from high school prepared for college, career and life. By 2025, we will double the number of West County children and youth who earn a post-secondary degree or certificate.

Goal: West County youth will graduate from high school prepared for post-secondary success

Financial Aid Workshops and Completion at Getting Ready for College Conference
Cash for College Nights at 5 comprehensive high schools so far: 293 students, 232 parents
District completed GPA Upload to CSAC
Kennedy College Bound Network completed financial aid workshop with over 200 seniors attending
Richmond Promise hosting community workshops for financial aid. So far: 51 students and 26 parents
Through October 28th, 221 FAFSA applications submitted by seniors from the 6 comprehensive high schools (number does not include CA Dream Applications)

A-G information included in parent workshop at GRFCC
EAOP First Step Summit held with emphasis on how to be A-G eligible for 9th and 10th graders on campus at UCB. ~100 participants

10. Avoid Remediation
Over 200 juniors at Kennedy have received 1st writing session from WriterCoach Connection to prepare for April EAP testing. Session #2 beginning today.

Goal: Underserved and underrepresented West County children and youth will have greater access to high quality Out-of-School Time (OST) programming that builds knowledge, shapes attitudes, and strengthens relevant skills through active and engaged learning

Action team requested a mapping of available afterschool and summer programs.
In the summer of 2016, the Ed Fund and Richmond Community Foundation conducted a community scan of available OST programing for kids 0-12 yrs. of age.

What are the gateway markers that every student needs in order to succeed at every key milestone in their educational development (e.g. Pre-K, 3rd Grade, 6th Grade, 8th Grade, etc.)? What are the barriers to success?
