Chapter 3 – we are working on counting and writing our numbers from 6 – 9.
We are working on counting, number recognition, ten frames, and tally marks in our math centers.

Writing
We have made it all the way through the alphabet with our hats! The kiddos really enjoyed making these everyday!
Now we are working on beginning sounds and word families. Our focus will be on rhyming words.

Reading
We will be reading Life in the Ocean
Letter Sound /a/
Sight Words – the, little, am, I, a, to, one, two, three, four, five, have, is, six, seven, eight, and nine.
Amazing Words – ocean, world, crab, shell, fish, seaweed.
This week’s little decodable reader book is entitled A Little Mat. Have your child read this to you at home. We practice several times at school and they are very excited about learning to read!
We will be introducing some fun science ideas in this unit!
Update
Wow, I can’t believe that September is over and we are already in the second week of September! I am truly enjoying this class and getting to know each one of these kiddos. Everyone has been doing great and adjusting to school well.
Communication
Please sign your child’s planner daily and empty folders out each night.
The planners are an excellent way for us to communicate!
