2 Student Network – About Us
The ISPOR Student Network is composed of all ISPOR student members. Any student who joins the Society becomes a member of the Network. The Student Network is headed by the ISPOR Student Council Chair and guided by the ISPOR Student Advisor. Mission: To foster future leaders by increasing awareness, providing educational opportunities, and developing professional advancement to promote excellence in health economics and outcomes research globally. Vision: To develop leaders in health economics and outcomes research and help build the workforce across the multiple disciplines of outcomes research through the engagement of students. 3 Student Council – About Us
The ISPOR Student Council consists of the ISPOR Student Network Advisor, Student Council Chair, Past Student Council Chair, and ISPOR Student Chapter Presidents. The Council meets monthly via teleconference,at the ISPOR Annual International Meeting, and the European Congress. Mission: To increase student awareness of the latest advances and discoveries through newsletters and educational webinars, and provide students in the field with opportunities for professional advancement and leadership development. Vision: To provide student members with valuable experiences for multidisciplinary networking, professional development, and information exchange.

An ISPOR Student Chapter is an organization of students at an academic institution, who are interested in health economics and outcomes research and its use in health care decisions and support the mission of ISPOR. Mission: Provide an environment at an institutional level where students can share knowledge in health economics and outcomes research. Serve as a bridge in bringing together students interested in health economics and outcomes research and ISPOR members from the pharmaceutical industry, research organizations, academia and clinical practice. Act as a resource for new students interested in health economics and outcomes research. Provide an opportunity for student chapter members to become involved in ISPOR activities.

The ISPOR Student Network is made up of 88 ISPOR Student Chapters, representing the following geographic regions: Asia Africa Europe Latin America North America (Includes US and Canada) Each Chapter President works closely with their peers to: Participate on a committee Facilitate Student Council enrichment webinars Collaborate with Faculty Advisors to ensure a positive chapter experience for all student members.

Dennis Raisch, MS, PhD, RPh Chair Laura Pizzi, RPh, PharmD, MPH Chair-Elect Vision: To develop leaders in health economics and outcomes research through collaboration with vibrant, purposeful and inspired ISPOR student chapters Mission: To support ISPOR student members’ professional development by providing learning experiences, networking opportunities, and continuity to the student chapters Scope: As an advisory council to the ISPOR Board of Directors, council members facilitate the educational and professional development of students worldwide in health economics and outcomes research

8 ISPOR Student Network Committees
Education Committee: Purpose: To coordinate monthly educational teleconferences to provide all ISPOR student members across the globe with the opportunity to learn from some of the most established researchers in our area of research. Recommended minimum number of committee members: 5 North America Meeting Planning Committee: Purpose: To plan student events during ISPOR conferences to enhance students’ educational experience and facilitate networking. Membership Outreach Committee: Purpose: To maintain and grow ISPOR student membership. Newsletter Committee: Purpose: To report on chapter activities and to provide information about issues that may be of interest to the student members of ISPOR.

Communication Committee: Purpose: To disseminate meeting minutes and increase the online and social network presence of ISPOR Student Network. Recommended minimum number of committee members: 2 Survey Committee: Purpose: To determine the perceptions of members of each student chapter so that improvements can be made to the existing activities of the ISPOR Student Network. Recommended minimum number of committee members: 4 Webmaster Committee: Purpose: To keep the ISPOR Student Network website up-to-date. International Meeting Planning Committee: Purpose: To plan student events during ISPOR European conferences and increase connections in the European region. Recommended minimum number of committee members: No Limit

11 ISPOR Working Groups ISPOR Scientific and Health Policy Working Groups (Task Forces, Special Interest Groups, and Council Working Groups) are initiated to advance health outcomes research and the use of this research in health care decisions. They provide an opportunity for ISPOR members to actively participate in the development of ISPOR knowledge products such as ISPOR Good Practices for Outcomes Research Reports, manuscripts for Value in Health and online tools used by decision makers and researchers around the world. Special Interest Groups develop manuscripts and online tools on specific topic areas. They are open to all ISPOR members.
