Britain and France declare war on Germany
Britain delivers an ultimatum to Germany. -Britain and France declare war but do nothing to help the Poles or fight Hitler. This is called the “phony war” where England and France watch and wait - Stalin invades Poland from the east.

Be ready to discuss and plan a SHORT (two minute) presentation with three other people about each battle in the war for a WWII battle timeline. As part of your presentation, brainstorm reasons your battle or campaign was significant to WWII. You will have to come up with these as a group – it may not be spelled out in the textbook.
