Shape Announcements AT&T Leading Innovation with IOT Developers
$99 Starter Kit includes HW & Connectivity 1,100 Starter Kits sold within 5 hours Three unsolicited enterprise leads Over 6 million developers already active in the IoT eco-system at the beginning of ,000 more to be added by end of ( More and more key players in every IoT market build their strategy around developers who can extend the product beyond what it was when it left the factory. Developers are extending the business in four unique ways: as innovators, customers, extenders, and distributors. Industrial IoT counts almost as high a percentage of professional developers as the mobile ecosystem does ( Apple + Google + other mobile providers combined). Ultimately in the organizations, its the developers who are emerging as the decision makers. Traditional sales models put up a lot of walls ( “contact our sales team”, “sign a NDA so you can read documentation”). Developers view this and generally find an alternate route to accomplishing their goal. Developers are emerging as the doers, and it’s because they’re the ones who are able to understand the problems that their company is facing and how they can solve it with a solution. And by letting them sort of do that assessment, build that prototype, all without asking anyone’s permission, without having to go through multiple stages of procurement inside a big company, they can essentially keep the ball moving. Product sold immediately on launch (1000 in 5 hours). We have had the entire eco-system reach out to us instead of us reaching out into the eco-system. Amazon, IBM, Microsoft and others have expressed interest in ensuring that a version of this works with their eco-system. Educational institutions and enterprises have placed orders and ed asking queries on scaling and support. Companies like PubNub have offered to team up with AT&T to run campaigns that might involve reaching out to their 100,000 developers on a joint partnership and venture. Microsoft and Pubnub have also offered an opportunity to create a startup contest for 5000 developers in SFO targeting the StarterKit with their solutions. It’s an IoT Starter Kit gives developers everything they need to build new connected solutions The kit that includes: An LTE Modem optimized for IoT, -Configured to run on AT&T LTE network right out of the box -Cat 1 form factor that provides high speed with low power Also an AT&T SIM card loaded with 6 month developer plan Free cloud storage to host and manage sharing on all sensor data being collected Free access to AT&T Flow Designer, a visual design environment which lets developers create and host new IoT applications in minutes And perhaps best of all, this kit includes free developer access to AT&T Control Center, which is our tool for managing devices that connect to the network. Oh, and the best part. . .the kit only costs $99!
