General SAMPA Production Planning
DualSAMPA + FLEX + SOLAR + …: to be mounted during LS2 MCH upgrade planning: Very dependent on SAMPA planning has shifted a lot ! SAMPA whole mass production: 2018 SAMPA chip tested and ready for mounting: Nov-Dec 2018 SAMPA planning Original planning !! MPW2 submitted : Mach 2015 MPW3 submitted: Sep 2015 Mass production: 2016 SAMPA ready to be mounted: mid 2017 Present, realistic planning MPW3 submission: end April ( postponed) MPW3 packaged received: end Aug 2017 MPW3 on DualSAMPA boards: Oct 2017 MPW3 validation: Dec 2017

General SAMPA production Planning
Final SAMPA submission: Jan 2018 Start final production: May 2018 SAMPA packaged batch 1 (33%) delivered: Beg Sep 2018 Robotic testing batch 1: beg Oct 2018 SAMPA packaged batch 2 (66%) delivered: Beg Oct 2018 Robotic testing batch 2: beg Nov 2018 SAMPA packaged batch 3 (100%) delivered: Beg Nov 2018 Robotic testing batch 3: beg Dec Remarks: batch 1 ≡ TPC batch ~ 6500 SAMPA; robotic testing by TPC Lund lab, presently for TPC chips Discussion with Lund for testing SAMPA for MCH: MCH will use Lund testbench ; need MCH manpower (or extra budget) for the testing 6 months for testing ! … but do not need all at the beginning

DualSAMPA production and installation Planning
Need DualSAMPA including spares (16500 to be mounted in cavern) Populating DualSAMPA with SAMPA chips will follow SAMPA production testing PCB production can start earlier Production: start March 2019 – end March 2020 Work in cavern By half chamber: 9 slats (station 3) or 13 slats (stations 4&5): ~ 1000 DS ; 12 half chambers By quadrant: ~500 DS; 16 quadrants 20 opening days (1 month) of work on one half chamber (dismounting slats – replacing FLEX + cable + DS – remounting slats – SOLAR fixing cabling – 1st commissioning) need teams from each lab ; one team (3-4 people) per week, each week plan manpower ! Need : delivery of 1000 DS DS12 per month At least, 1 year of installation + 1st commissioning Earliest installation start: April 2019 (LS2 start: Jan 2019) End of installation : April 2020
9
SOLAR planning Need 624 SOLAR boards to be installed in the cavern (700 including spares) First prototype ready – used for tests EDR: May 5 Second prototype: Schematic finished Layout starting mid May Fabrication: June –July Tests: July – End Sep PRR SOLAR: Sep End October 2017 Submit SOLAR pre-production: Nov 2017 Pre-serie production: 25 Production: 1 month Validation with Automatic testbench: 3 month SOLAR Test bench: June – Oct 2017 Full Production: ~1 year from March SOLAR produced & tested: Jan 2019
10
FLEX planning Design of all FLEX types: 4 months
FLEX Production: in discussion with companies Planning is not an issue for FLEX
