Week 13

2 Passover The ancient Jewish ceremony by which the Israelites recall their Exodus from Egypt

3 People of God A title which reminds us that the Church is a visible community of people chosen by God to be His own

4 Responsibility The virtue by which we accept the consequences of our actions

5 Tabernacle The special place in our Church where the Blessed Sacrament is kept We should always genuflect when we pass or are in front of the tabernacle

6 Temple The center in Jerusalem where the Israelites worshipped God
The temple was built by King David’s son, Solomon

7 Thanksgiving A prayer of thanks to God for all He has given us, and all He has done for us Gratitude for God’s blessings should always be in our hearts and prayers

8 Tower of Babel The tower built by people who thought they could do things without God In response to their mistaken pride, God confused their language forcing them to abandon building the tower

9 Transubstantiation The complete change of substance of the bread and wine into the Body and Blood of Christ at the Consecration of the Mass

10 Tree of Life A tree in the middle of the Garden of Eden
Whoever ate of its fruit would live forever

11 Trinity The mystery of God, that He is three Persons in one Divine nature

12 Understanding The virtue by which one is able to be sympathetic towards the sufferings and struggles of oneself and others Understanding also means to comprehend the truths of the faith more deeply

13 Vocation A call from God to serve Him in a specific way
Married, religious, consecrated life, priesthood, and life as a single person in the world dedicated to serving God, are different vocations to which God can call us We are happiest when we follow God’s plan for our life

14 Vow A solemn promise made to God of something that is good and pleasing to Him Religious take the vows of poverty, chastity and obedience Married couples vow to be faithful, open to new life (children), and to be married forever. With God’s grace we can do these things!

15 Witness To tell others about Jesus through our words and deeds.
St. Francis said to preach the Gospel always, and when necessary to use words. Do your actions show you are a follower of Christ?

16 Yahweh The name by which God revealed Himself to Moses. In Hebrew it means “I AM”
