Snowy the Robot

We made this robot as a team by mixing and matching different body parts of the robot from different individual drawings. For example, we took out our original robots arms and added the arms from Ben’s robot.

2. Special features Triangle Nose
Some special features we added to our robot were a triangle nose, a rectangle mouth and a compartment on the body.

3. Body
Criteria: The front of the body must be a rectangle with an area that is greater than 64 square units but less than 125 square units.
How we met the criteria: Snowy’s body is a rectangle. The area is 99 units squared. The dimensions are 11*9 and the calculations are Area=99 units squared, Perimeter= =40 units

4. Head
Criteria: The front of the head must be a rectangle with a perimeter of 20 units.
How we met the criteria: The head is a square which also counts as a rectangle. It is a 5*5 square with a perimeter of 20 units. The area of the square is 25 square units.

5. Antenna
Criteria: The antenna is a rectangle with a perimeter of 6 units and the least possible area.
How we met the criteria: The antenna is a rectangle with 6 units as the perimeter. The dimensions are 2*1 and the area is 2 units. This is the least possible area without going into decimals.

6. Legs
Criteria: The front of each leg must be a quadrilateral that is not a rectangle.
How we met the criteria: Each of the legs are trapezoids which are quadrilaterals but are not rectangles. Squares wouldn’t have worked because they also are rectangles.

7. Arm divided into 5 equal parts with 3 of the 5 (3/5) parts shaded in

Criteria: The front of each arm must be a rectangle divided into equal parts which 3/5 of the parts shaded.
How we met the criteria: Each of the arms are a 2*5 rectangle with 3/5 shaded (6 squares). The perimeter of the arms are 14 units and the area is 10 units. The arms are split into sections with 2 squares or 1/5 each.

8. Eyes
Criteria: Each eye must be shaped like a hexagon divided into equal parts with 2/3 shaded.
How we met the criteria: The eyes are hexagons with 2/3 shaded (4 triangles). We split the eyes into triangles.
Both eyes are divided into 6 equal triangle with 2/3 shaded in and 2 triangles (1/3) white.
