2 Our Philosophy Every student-athlete willing to embrace the “team concept” should have the opportunity to participate on a competitive interscholastic team. 3 Participation Requirements
9th - 12th Graders only Physical clearance from doctor Forms available at DHS office or website davishighschoolswimming.com Forms must be turned in prior to participation

4 Participation Requirements
Turn in completed athletic forms to Athletics Office during school hours or the North Gym lobby on January 31 from 6-8pm Bring clearance slip to coaches in order to participate See Laurie Williams – Athletic Secretary

5 Participation Requirements
Academic requirements outlined on athletic forms Cannot swim in USA Swimming meets as a member of a USA Swimming team Aquadarts or Aquamonsters enter meet as unattached (Feb. 6 – May 20) Must swim unattached or we will have to forfeit meets and athlete will not be eligible to participate in remainder of the season. 2.0 GPA semester before/semester during participation Enrolled in 20 credits

6 Training Options Athletes may choose to train with their club (Aquadarts, Aquamonsters, etc.) I will be in contact with club coaches throughout the season to ensure consistent attendance Aquadarts - Billy Doughty Aquamonsters - Pete Motekaitis Athletes must participate in 90% or more practices in order to compete in meets Can swim with club or High School team at Arroyo

7 Weekly Training Schedule
First day of training is February 6 Monday-Friday 5-7pm through February 24th 5-7pm M,W,F 6:45-8:45pm T,TH (starting 2/27) Combined practices (boys and girls) Season will end on April 28 for those athletes who do not qualify for CIF Section meet This is for Arroyo practices

8 Teams Varsity Frosh-Soph
Top 18 boys and girls in any grade All juniors and seniors Frosh-Soph Freshmen and sophomores who are not top 18 designated as Varsity Athletes may be moved from Frosh-Soph to Varsity at any time during the season If Freshman and Sophomore will score points in Varsity at Championship meets they may be moved up

9 Competitions Every athlete can expect to swim at dual meets
Coaches will select events for the athletes Swimmers can request events on the Google survey Coaches will announce who will compete and who will train via newsletter Swim Status– DHS Athletic Trainer Parents should not fill out event request for swimmers If you have an injury or restriction that prevents you from swimming certain events please fill out this form. Must talk to Andrew Superak to get written note or note from primary care

10 Communication Coaches will update website with practice times, rosters, and other important information Team Newsletter Social Media Questions, private matters, etc. Please contact me at: 24 hour rule Student-athletes must have a personal and professional to contact me with Wait 24 hours to contact me with a complaint I will respond to you within 24 hours

11 Invitational/Non-League Competitions
March 3-4: Raider Invite (ARC) March 31-April 1: Norcal Championships (Roseville) Junior High athletes will be dismissed 15 minutes earlier than H.S. Athletes Depart from the DHS parking lot All athletes are expected to be available to compete We do not have any league travel meets this season We will have several invitational travel meets (Friday- Saturday) that all athletes are encouraged to attend NorCal Champs is during Spring Break

12 Dual Meet Competitions
Delta League March 1 vs. Monterey Trail March 8 vs. Elk Grove March 15 vs. Jesuit/St. Francis March 29 vs. Franklin April 5 vs. Pleasant Grove April 19 vs. Grant All home meets at Arroyo Sheldon meet during Spring Break

13 Dual Meets Come directly to Arroyo Pool after school
Warm-ups start at 3pm Meet runs from 4pm to approximately 6pm Athletes must stay to help with takedown 2:30 dismissal for all atheletes

14 League Championships Delta Valley Conference Championships - Jesuit Pool April 27-28 Trials on Thursday - Finals on Friday Only top 4 swimmers in each event can qualify for Finals Last chance for CIF qualifying times Circle date on your calendar. We want to win this meet! BIG MEET – 8 teams. We want to win this one! Last meet for all atheletes without Section cuts

15 Section Championships
CIF Sac-Joaquin Section Championships May at Tokay H.S. in Lodi Girls Trials on Thursday 5/11 Boys Trials on Friday 5/12 All Finals on Saturday 5/13 Section cuts can be found on the website. Most competitive meet of the season

16 California State Championships
May at Clovis West High School Top 3 Varsity finishers at CIF Sections Time standard can only be met by swimming the qualifying time in Section Finals

Meet Volunteers We ask that parents assist with timing and scoring Officials for Championship Meets Pop-up tents Volunteers please Thank you for your support!

18 Transportation We rely on parent drivers for travel meets
Every parent and athlete should submit the driver form Must submit new form each school year Volunteer driver forms are included on the website

19 Contribution We are requesting contributions of $150 per athlete
Checks payable to Davis High School Swimming The contribution is appreciated by the first day of practice Your donations pay for meet fees, swim meet snacks, supplies, equipment, and some travel costs Contribution is not a requirement in order to participate If we do not get enough funds we will not be able to attend meets Checks or cash are appreciated in any amount. You can bring contributions to the pool or mail them to 521 7t Street #9 Davis, CA 95616 Thank you!

22 Team Suits Alpha Aquatics
Team suits will be fitted and ordered by February 12 Girls - Nike $61 - Boys - Speedo $40 Suits will be ordered online Athletes can wear technical racing suits at Sections Please confirm that your suit is NFHS approved prior to use Any suit with non-school designation is an illegal suit Suit fitting February 7th at 5pm

23 Shirts and Sweatshirts
We plan to order team shirts within the first week of the season, so they can be worn at the first meet Shirts are provided for all athletes Sweatshirts will be an additional $30 Sign up for t-shirt and sweatshirt sizes on website Sign up online. I’m using this sign up form as a roster for the season
