3 Continuing Education Funding
Continuing education funding is designed for continuing the education of adults and to provide job training for immediate employment. TEC § (e)(4)

4 Compliance Monitoring
Coordinating Board Compliance Monitoring came out of the 83rd Legislative Session ( SB 215) Emphasis: Funds allocated by the CB to intuition Data reported is used for funding and/or policymaking decisions

5 Primary Objectives The reliability and integrity of information
Compliance with policies, plans, procedures, laws and regulations To verify that we are not misreporting data The economical and efficient use of resources

6 Risk Factors Included:
Financial assistance or grant funds allocated to the institution Misuse of funds or misreported data by the institution Data verification and the potential for abuse Prior audits or internal audits Changes in mission or key management

7 Issues Noted in Previous audits/Reviews
Lack of documentation and/or processes Instructor Qualifications Contact hours for non-traditional courses IT Controls Tuition not paid by census date Continuing Education – High School students Collect registration and other session fees

8 Weatherford College agrees to $1.4 million funding adjustment
Colleges should not have requested formula funding for continuing education courses offered to high school students under the age of 18. Moreover, the college should have charged tuition for those courses.

Contact hours reported for students 17 and under Did not charge and collect tuition for contact hours reported for formula funding July 7, 2016 over awarded for the current biennium = students 18 and over for non-payment
