AFDO is a peak body AFDO represents the interests of people with a disability Members are run and operated by people with a disability and their families AFDO educates the public about the issues faced by people with a disability on a day to day basis 7

Salaries, managers’ costs and on-costs
Head office finance costs, rent External venue costs for delivery of training Other costs that are incurred whenever additional units of an activity are delivered On-costs such as annual leave, long service leave, superannuation, workers’ compensation insurance and award allowances, penalties Percentage of time staff members spend delivering the service, the closer to 100% the better. AKA ‘minimum direct staff utilization rate’ Number of people under one supervisor. AKA ‘span of control’ of program management. Usually described as a ratio, e.g. 15:1 The working capital required to operate the organisation. Usually calculated as current assets minus current liabilities 78
