What is LinkedIn? LinkedIn is an interconnected network of experienced professionals from around the world, representing 433 million members in over 200 countries and territories. You can find, be introduced to, and collaborate with qualified professionals that you need to work with to accomplish your goals. LinkedIn is free to join. They also offer a premium version of your accounts that give you more tools for finding and reaching the right people, whether or not they are in your network.

Building your profile page
Your LinkedIn profile is your opportunity to showcase your skills and talents. You can help the “right” people and opportunities find their way to you and you to them. Users with completed profiles are 40 times more likely to receive opportunities through LinkedIn. Upload a professional picture The “meat” of your profile should be your Summary. Include keywords! Professional Experience should be more concise than a resume—include accomplishments. Include relevant certifications! Ask for a few recommendations. Join Groups to help you network.

A few reminders Set a limit on your job board time.
Check job postings early in the day and apply asap. Don’t replace face-to-face networking opportunities with social media! Remember to reach out to people you do know and don’t know for informational interviews.
