3. Have We Explored Mars?
People have explored the planet Mars. NASA sent out the first spaceship, Mariner 4, in The spaceship then
landed on Mars in The first satellite sent to Mars was Mariner 9. In 2003, two rovers were sent on Mars to explore.

4. Features That Mars Have
Common surface features of Mars are dark slope streaks, dust devil tracks, sand dunes, Medusae Fossae Formation, fretted terrain, layers, gullies, glaciers, scalloped topography, chaos terrain, possible ancient rivers, pedestal craters, brain terrain, and ring mold craters. Mars does not have a ring but scientists say that Mars may develop one in the future. Mars had three volcanoes, known as “shield volcanoes” because these three volcanoes are extinct and remain looking like enormous shields. There is also no evidence on Mars for large-scale plate tectonics as we find on Earth. It is believed to be responsible for the different character of Martian and Terrestrial volcanoes. Reddish hue over 3/5 of the planet, which is known to be caused by red dust and rocks on the surface of the Mars.

Average Temperature: -67 F, -55 C
High Temperature:
Winter – Minus 195 F, Minus 125 C
Summer – 70 F, 20 C near the equator but during the night the temperature can plummet to minus 100 F which is 73 C.
Low Temperature: About 70 F, 20 C at noon, at the equator in the summer, or a low of about -225 degrees F, -153 degrees C at the poles.

Mars in fact does have an atmosphere. The Martian atmosphere includes about 95.3% of carbon dioxide and 2.7% nitrogen, with the mixture of other gases. However, it is a very thin atmosphere, roughly 100 times less dense than Earth's atmosphere.

7. Moons of Mars
Mars has two moons. The first moon is Phobos, which is the largest and innermost of the two natural satellites of planet Mars. The orbital period is eight |8| hours, gravity is m/s squared. Orbits Mars and is million miles away from Earth. Discovered on August 17, 1877 by American astronomer Asaph Hall.
Deimos being the second moon, is the smaller and outer of the two natural satellites of Mars with the mean radius of 6.2 km and takes 30.3 hours to orbit Mars, while gravity is m/s squared and is million miles away from Earth with the circumference of 24 mi, also discovered on August 12, 1877 by American astronomer Asaph Hall.
