Science: Learning to be based around the topics of animals (needs of animals, caring for animals) and plants (what plants need to grow). History: Sequencing events such as the life cycle of a chicken. Observing the growth of cress. Calendar countdown when incubating eggs. Days of the week and months of the year. Design and Technology: Cooking activities, making animal puppets, making bird feeders and creating own miniature gardens. Visits/ visitors – e.g. visit to a local farm, incubating eggs, visit from a hen or cockerel. Values education. Caring for animals and plants. Health and hygiene.
