English as an Additional Language (EAL) in Scoil Phádraig Naofa
There are two EAL teachers The teachers take the boys out for minutes daily in small groups for language lessons They work through the designated English language programme: “Integrate Ireland” They cover class work too, reinforcing the class reader & maths concepts The children are encouraged to learn English through play, where they engage in literacy & language games The EAL teachers also go into the classroom as part of the teams that implement literacy & maths initiatives such as Literacy Lift Off & Maths Blast English as an Additional Language (EAL) in Scoil Phádraig Naofa

English for Living: Social & Communication Skills
EAL supports pupils in developing important life skills including: Making friends Playing/working together in school Engaging in activities in the wider community English for Living: Social & Communication Skills

English is at the core of all elements in the curriculum
Reading and writing skills as well as maths concepts Enables children to reach their full potential & live a fulfilling & happy life English is at the core of all elements in the curriculum
