6 Topic Discussed in EGNRET 45
Draft Work Plan of APEC and IRENA Definition of New and Renewable Energy

7 Topic Discussed in EGNRET 45
Draft Work Plan of APEC and IRENA Background To leverage the expertise and resources of international organizations, the US proposed a draft APEC-IRENA work plan to facilitate brainstorming on potential areas for collaboration. This work plan has not been vetted by IRENA. Suggestions Integrate the EGNRET projects in past two years, and the integrated data could be used as the reference for future cooperation direction of proposed projects. To attach a joint meeting between EGNRET and other organisations like IRENA and IEA to carry out the potential joint-projects. EGNRET members are encouraged to conduct projects related to this Work Plan.

8 Topic Discussed in EGNRET 45
Definition of New and Renewable Energy The definition of New and Renewables is not defined clearly yet. The difficulty: Traditional biomass energy and small hydro Biomass accounts a big ratio in the global renewables. However, traditional biomass data is very difficult to collect correctly and some of the traditional biomass consumption is harmful to the environment. The correct statistic data would be very important to set the doubling goal.

16 Prospective of EGNRET Works in 2016
The EGNRET will focus more on smart grid, low carbon town, etc. which are directly related to the ESCI and APEC ASGI. EGNRET members are encouraged to conduct researches related to reduction of energy intensity in APEC region. EGNRET will expand the experience exchange or share of best practices for each economy to access the enough technology to further promote the renewable energy for RE doubling goal.

17 Prospective of EGNRET Works in 2016
EGNRET will continue work with EGEDA, EGEE&C, and APERC in the APEC Region, and will also try to communicate with IRENA, IEA, and ASEAN to get the most useful information for push forward the doubling goal. EGNRET will also continue to discuss and look into the priority of different technology and/or strategy is required for all APEC Region or each Economy, and will also encourage each economy to submit the proposal based on the identified priority in order to remove the barrier and speed up the employment of renewable energy.
