2. Overview
RMIT Careers and Employability in collaboration with the College of DSC brought a Pop-Up Jop Shop series to the Brunswick campus from 15 May to 18 May 2017.
The Job Shop activities and events included:
personalised resume and cover letter tips
careers advice and workshops
interview tips
LinkedIn profile reviews
Zara industry presentation
Weploy industry presentation
Activator information session
Future Edge and Industry Mentoring induction sessions
free LinkedIn photo shoots

3. Highlights 245 total attendance (229 unique students)
84% of attended students feel better prepared for their career as a result of visiting the Brunswick Pop Up Job Shop

4. Attendance breakdown Education Award School Cohort
First year students make up majority of the total attendance (52%)
Final year students make up 33% of the student attendance
Associate Degree in Fashion and Textile Merchandising had the largest representation (24%), followed by Associate Degree in Fashion Design and Technology (13%), and Master of Fashion (Entrepreneurship) (11%)

5. Student Feedback
“I really appreciated how RMIT values their students by giving them the best opportunity they can get at finding a job. It was great to hear insight from industry professionals who gave valuable information on roles and requirements of working at Zara. It has also given me drive, and I am sure many others to aim to do my best as I was shown what my future in the industry could lead to. By having a small group of people attending the two sessions, it made it more intimate and personal for us who are keen to land a job in our desired industry. The only downside of having just two sessions was that it could be disappointing for those who may have missed out by being put on the waitlist.”

6. Recommendations (based on feedback from students and staff)
More industry presentations and workshops for Education students
Plan earlier and co-design the Job Shop activities/workshops with the DSC schools
Brunswick Pop Up Job Shop, sem : week of Monday 21 August for 1 week (tentative)
