Animal Facts Description The flamingo’s most common color is pink because they eat shrimp. You can also find them in orange, American and white, greater). They are usually 42 inches from head to toe. They weigh about 5-6 pounds. If you ever close to a flamingo you can hear them honk. They sound like a goose. Diet Flamingos are omnivores. They mostly eat shrimp. Some others prefer algae and snails. Movement They move as one. Zig -zagging across the water. During movement ,a female breaks from the crowd. 4 Life Cycle When it is having birth it comes out as an egg. It comes out one egg at a time and it takes 30 days for it to crack open. While the egg is in there, the flamingos take turns sitting on the egg. When the baby cracks they look like a white, fluffy, baby chicken. A picture of the animal as a baby or young. Before the flamingos have kids they live colonies. The group comes in thousands. The adults are crimson red, pale pink, and dark pink. They usually live 20 – 30 years.
