Events on Campus Asian Corner Apollo Night
Fri., Feb. 5th, from 12:00-1:00 p.m. in A-216 Celebrating Chinese New Year! Apollo Night Fri., Feb. 5, 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., E-Auditorium In honor of the historical Black History Month, Peace Club will transform the beautiful Fine Arts Hall of SF into the Apollo Theatre of New York. Similar to amateur night at the Apollo, during this event the stage will be open to students who are interested in showcasing poetry, singing, and musical instruments. Futhermore, representatives of student organizations such as My Brother's Keeper, My Sisiter's Keeper, and Dream Defenders will be apart of the cultural fashion show during intermission. Voter Suppression in Florida Tues., Feb. 9, 7:00 p.m., Fine Arts Hall The Democracy Commitment at Santa Fe College is proud to present two of the foremost scholars of voter disenfranchisement in Florida, Dr. Dan Smith and Dr. Paul Ortiz. Our guests will expose the tricks of the disenfranchisement trade and discuss the effects of voter suppression in past, present, and future elections. Events on Campus Con. Exhibit: Voices Americanos: Latino Literature in the United States Jan. 27-Feb. 24, at SF Lawrence W. Tyree Library lobby, ongoing A celebratory survey of works by Latinos in the past thirty years, Voices Americanos: Latino Literature in the United States presents images of authors, books, movie stills, public presentations, and illustrations. It is based on an original exhibition at the University of Houston Library that documented a quarter century of Hispanic publishing in the United States. Exhibit on loan from Humanities Texas. Movie on the Grove Wed., Feb. 10, 6:30 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. Join us for Black History Month for a nice relaxing evening on the grove to watch Selma on a HUGE inflatable screen! We will be serving pizza, popcorn and drinks. The movie is free to all Santa Fe students, staff, and faculty and will start as soon as it gets dark (around 7:00 p.m.!)

Celebrate African Diaspora Tues., Feb. 16, 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m., R-01 Join the Multicultural Student Center as we learn about and celebrate the African Diaspora! As always, there will be free food and great company!

Tues., Feb. 9th, near S-building from 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. We will be sale baked goods since next week is Chinese New year that will be our theme, bring baked goods if you can and help us raised funds for students interested in studying abroad. Budget Hearing is this 4:00pm
