16 Update: New Factors in Determinations Process
Determinations and Timeliness Timeliness of CAP submissions, progress reports, and requests for CAP closeout is a new factor in the Determinations process for 16

17 Helpful Hints: CAPs If your local is issued a finding, you must develop a CAP: Ensure root cause analysis has depth Activities must align with the required evidence of correction Monitoring of the impact of the identified activities must be front-loaded and frequent enough to achieve compliance as soon as possible Contact your ISD Monitor or TA Provider if you need assistance CAPs are due on October 15 (Part B) or November 15 (Part C) 17 17

18 Findings of Noncompliance
Reminder: All areas of noncompliance must be corrected as soon as possible but in no case later than one year including verification. ASAP BINCLTOY IV 18

If your local has a progress report due from the December or April workbook: Complete a progress report and submit it in the CIMS workbook Contact your ISD Monitor or TA Provider if your local is having difficulties implementing a CAP Upcoming due dates: December 2009 CAPs - PR 2 due Sept. 15 April 2010 CAPs - PR 1 due Oct. 1 19 19

If your district has been scheduled for an onsite, desk audit, or self review: Contact your ISD Monitor Consider appropriate RAP team members Review your student lists in the CIMS workbook (after September 15) Review guidance documents specific to the monitoring area on the CIMS website ( Check your local’s Data Portraits on MI-CIS website ( 21
