2. Hebrews 11:1-3
(1) Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. (2) For by it the elders obtained a good report. (3) Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.”

3. God either does exist or does not exist!
Does God Exist?
God either does exist or does not exist!
If God does exist, it is not just because man says He does.
Neither would God cease to exist if the totality of humankind denied Him!
God’s existence is a fact.
It is ascertainable and provable.
It is not dependent upon man’s realization or acceptance.

4. “We must turn to religion to truly know God!”
So Where Do We Go?
“We must turn to religion to truly know God!”
May sound like a good answer on the surface, but which religion?
Judaism? Islam? Hinduism? Buddhism? Confucianism? Shintoism? Sikhism? Catholicism? Denominationalism?

5. II Corinthians 5:10-11
“For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad. (11) Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men;…”

6. Some Proofs Of God’s Existence
I am here!
“Every effect must have an adequate cause”
Man is alive, intelligent, moral, & intricately designed.
Only God could have caused man!

7. Some Proofs Of God’s Existence
How did the very first mother and father come into existence?
Only three possible answers
The 1st mother and father always existed;
There was a time when they didn’t exist but they caused themselves to exist;
(3) There was a time when they didn’t exist & someone else caused them to exist.

8. Adequate Cause? God of the Bible Alive, and the giver of life
Genesis 2:7 “And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.”

9. Ecclesiastes 12:5-7
“Also when they shall be afraid of that which is high, and fears shall be in the way, and the almond tree shall flourish, and the grasshopper shall be a burden, and desire shall fail: because man goeth to his long home, and the mourners go about the streets:”

10. (6) Or ever the silver cord be loosed, or the golden bowl be broken, or the pitcher be broken at the fountain, or the wheel broken at the cistern. (7) Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.”

11. Adequate Cause? God of the Bible Infinitely intelligent
Psalm 147:5 “Great is our Lord, and of great power: his understanding is infinite.”

12. Adequate Cause? God of the Bible The standard of morality
Psalm 119:142 “Thy righteousness is an everlasting righteousness, and thy law is the truth.”

13. Adequate Cause? God of the Bible
The master designer
Job 33:4 “The Spirit of God hath made me, and the breath of the Almighty hath given me life.”
Psalm 139:14 “I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.”

14. Hebrews 3:4
“For every house is builded by some man; but he that built all things is God.”

15. Why do intelligent and learned men cling so tightly to the laughably ridiculous tenets of evolution?
Matthew 13:15 “For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.”

16. How Does The Bible Address This?
Isaiah 1:18
“Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.”
Acts 24:25
“And as he reasoned of righteousness, temperance, and judgment to come, Felix trembled:”

17. How Does The Bible Address This?
Acts 17:2-3
“And Paul, as his manner was, went in unto them, and three sabbath days reasoned with them out of the scriptures, (3) Opening and alleging, that Christ must needs have suffered, and risen again from the dead; and that this Jesus, whom I preach unto you, is Christ.”

18. How Does The Bible Address This?
“reasoned”
“to select, distinguish, then to revolve in the mind, to converse (interchange of ideas), then to teach in the Socratic (“dialectic”) method of question and answer, then simply to discourse, but always with the idea of intellectual stimulus”
With these Jews and God-fearers Paul appealed to the Scriptures as text and basis of his ideas.
