4. To track your student’s behavior we are old school and use a clipboard that travels with each class. We do not utilize dojo (delete that app- download remind! )
Each student is given one free check per day without consequences. From there each check is 10 minutes missed from recess. Of course any major infractions can change this, but it is the general rule.
For Reading/Language Arts I would appreciate each parent (not just my homeroom) download the remind app and recap app. See my website or sign in the hall for how to connect.

5. Homework Homework Outside of book reports students are
expected to read for 20+ minutes
nightly. I realize that this can be
difficult with practices etc., but it is
very beneficial to the student and
will ensure they meet their AR goal.
The book reports will be one per nine
weeks. Each one should be written three paragraphs (5 sentences minimum each). Outside of that I want students to be creative. Their creative aspect can be a diorama, video presentation, anything creative (pinterest is your friend!) and I only ask that they don’t use the same book more than once. They can be books from class but MUST be a chapter book at least the 4th grade reading level.

     Our classroom will use lots of technology! Students will use all of the technology available to us throughout the year to expand their knowledge of technology and how it can be used constructively in our daily lives.
The Recap app is utilized for extra credit opportunities. You do not HAVE to download this. If you do not want your child to download this on their own device don’t. It is completely optional. It allows me to post questions and the students to respond. Some are text questions but mostly I utilize the video feedback options.
Outside of points for work that is above and beyond LEXIA is the only other method of extra credit. We use this program in class when possible but students are encouraged to spend
their own time at home doing this.
Their sign on should be the same as
their lunch code but if that doesn’t
work please let me know and I will
look it up for you.
